A doula can be with your loved one whether anyone else is there or not. I can ease the anxiety for both the caregivers and loved ones who can't be there all the time, or need extra support and also to the loved one so they know that there is always someone with them.
A doula that is a CNA, can do essential cares during this part of the end of life journey. If they are not an RN, they can not administer any medication, but may assist with the patient as long as they are able to take it themselves.
A doula is usually hired by the hour for as long as you would like. You may find it beneficial to work out a whole plan purchase, which would depend on individual cases.
This hour may include talking, praying, reading, doing hair, nails, or just being there to comfort not only the individual but family and friends.
